People that say it's fading are actually the one's that are fading! But We True HipHoppa's are building something Massive, the likes of which they just can not understand!

I personally think that the reason why some people believe that hip hop is fading is the lack of attendance at shows, that and the serious lack of promotion. I only found out about the Alfamega show by stopping into a liquor store. and I found out bout the Franchize Boyz show by going to the new Wing Heaven. I believe that people need to take a more productive approach for promoting, you can not expect the name to draw the people. I mean look at the Snoop concert 5 years ago didnt draw hardly anybody. Look at the Rick Ross/Jeezy concert last year aside from the absurd ticket prices these promoters set its no wonder people believe hip hop is fading in the area. I believe everything will come into place once the time is right however. I really think that there is talent in the city, but for us to move forward. We can not be the city of "fuck that nigga n fuck that bitch"

I think most importantly..To keep HipHop in West Michigan from being overlooked everyone that commented on this blog and everyone that may read this needs to become active member's of the HipHop Coalition, Come to the weekly meetings, every Saturday at the Life Quest Urban Beanery @ 1155 Madison S.E. 11 am every Saturday.

That is if your serious about about preserving HipHop Kulture, If you are serious about making life for HipHoppa's in West Michigan something that we can all be proud of then, we all have to become more ACCOUNTABLE! for our Kulture and stop letting a handful of others do all the work, while the rest of us sit back and complain about what's not being done right.

To Goblin..YO! You guy's get it in! and are definitely one of the bright spots in Michigan HipHop,Period! You could still make a meeting every now and then though, lol.

Ken Dill You are right to a point, Being a HipHoppa means being ACCOUNTABLE and HONEST!
The best artist are honest in their art, Honest to themselves, their art, culture and their overall community. Rick Ross is getting aired out by 50 cent right now in great part because he was dishonest with his audience.

Where is the Accountability of behalf of the HipHop Community? Nationally, We are getting busy! I'm very proud of the active stance HipHoppas took in the last 2 presidential elections. Locally???!!!! There is a whole lot to be desired.
We are accountable as citizens, men and women first but then when we claim HipHop that adds a whole other element to the mix because HipHop is WHAT?? It's all about being Accountable and being a mouthpiece and servant for those who cannot speak or do for themselves! That's where we come from! HipHop will always be here, I believe that but we cannot take that for granted as HipHoppas we have to do our part to secure our future and to secure that our history and legacy of our Kulture are represented in a fashion that will make all of us proud, No one is going to do that for us but us and there in lies the problem, We all seem to be content in letting others do the work that we as HipHoppas are charged with when we claim such an inheritance but there in lies another problem maybe the ultimate problem for our Kulture is that most of us who claim HipHop Inheritance don't really have a clue as to what it means TO BE HIPHOP!

If and artist is fake then Please be the best fake and most honest Fake that you can be, The audience is smart, I trust that, everything else will sort itself out.

Thats real talk its like its a cloud over G.R. that wants to stay in a box and not embrace good music even if they tapping they feet to it (lol). I do alot of shows out of town but i would love to do more in the city i was raised in. The events need to be more organized kinda like homeboy ghostface was saying. Because Our group opened up for the alfamega show and a lot of people didnt even know he was coming. Definelty the marketing and word of mouth need to circulate harder. When you get to a event you need a few key things in order. First You need a host!! to let the people know what going on (introduce artist, rep the event, and get crowd participation). Second if you are a artist you need to be at the venue if not early atleast on time (no superstar bulls##t). The acts need to atleast be auditioned to show that they able to rock a crowd and put on a show not just standing looking down (Busta said it best put on a show!!). And im a leave on this note even if they are terrible or you didnt feel them atleast give kudos and recognition for them get in front of a crowd showing mad heart. holla (Learn about it!!)

Ima agree and say, The ones that say its fading are the ones fading, they cant and havent done anything with themselves, and there music dont move 1 cuz is simply juss not good enough or 2 cuz they dont know what the hell there doing. Music will ALWAYS move, It just takes time!
